Men have higher melanoma incidence and mortality compared to women, suggesting sex hormones may influence disease outcomes. My project investigates the role of estrogen receptor beta in melanocyte development, with the goal of elucidating molecular mechanisms through which estrogen signaling represses melanoma progression.
